ABOUT ENCORE

In partnership with local schools’ parent associations, Encore Kid's Theater Night Out is a fun and engaging youth theater experience designed to give kids a memorable evening with friends. 

During the event, students participate in an interactive theater experience where they read short scripts, sing upbeat songs, learn simple choreography, practice teamwork, and enjoy pizza together. The evening provides a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where children can explore the performing arts while building confidence, creativity, and friendships. Encore was created in response to students’ requests for more opportunities to experience theater and performing arts with their peers.

Each Encore event is led by Baker-Butler Elementary music teacher and Light & Joy Studios owner/director, Erin Owney. An experienced performer, Mrs. Owney has spent more than twenty years teaching music and theater in Albemarle County, creating safe, supportive, and energetic performing arts experiences for children. She is passionate about bringing youth theater into local communities and delivering high-quality theater education, productions, and performance opportunities within a safe, encouraging environment that helps young performers develop skills while building confidence, creativity, and character. 

Encore is also a wonderful opportunity for families to experience a glimpse of the Light & Joy Studios camp environment. If you and your child enjoy Encore, you’ll love our summer camps and theater programs!

Giving Back to Our Schools
20% of all proceeds from Encore events are donated directly to the participating school’s PTO.

Early Registration (10+ days before event):
One Student - $35
Two Students - $50
Three Students - $75
Four+ Students - Additional $5/student

Regular Registration (4-10 days before event):
One Student - $40
Two Students - $60
Three Students - $80
Four+ Students - Additional $5/student

Late Registration (1-3 days before event):
One Student - $45
Two Students - $65
Three Students - $85
Four+ Student - Additional $5/student

 *Fees are set per family household. Registrations must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the event. If you would like to request a reservation within 24 hours of the event, please email lightandjoystudios@gmail.com for approval.
